DAY 2 — MOLDING

Are You Hungry Enough to Become?

DAY 2 — MOLDING

Becoming begins with hunger—and staying connected to Christ.

Section: Discipleship

You are not breaking down by accident.
You are being molded.

It is written that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. That instability is not unique to you—it is the condition of mortality. You were born into a fallen world, in a fallen body, to learn—slowly and often painfully—how to overcome the natural man.

If that were not possible, Christ would not have paid an infinite price.

But because of His grace, you may come unto Him. And in coming unto Him, you learn not merely to manage the natural man, but to subdue it with joy—by yielding and partaking of the divine nature.

This work does not come by willpower alone.

It comes by hunger and thirst after ever good thing.
Which does more than sprinkle you with warm fuzzies.
It fills you with the Spirit of the Lord.
Then with the yoke of Christ, you tap into real power.
Power to overcome all things not ordained of God.

From Instability to Divine Resolve

There is a kind of becoming that cannot be bought.

You can purchase books. You can memorize scripture. You can learn the language of discipleship. But until you live these truths—in hunger, in thirst, in humility—you remain what scripture warns against: ever learning, yet never coming to the knowledge of the truth.

Molding requires more than information.
It requires desire.

Not merely a willingness to die for a cause—
but a willingness to live for it.

Hunger is what keeps you on the wheel when the pressure comes.

The Energy Question

At this point, a hard truth must be faced:

“The same energy will enable you to become a beast or a god.”
— James Allen, The Life Triumphant (1910)

The power is not the question—for when you do the thing, the power comes, as Emerson points out. And he continues, but if you do not the thing, you have no such power.

The question is what governs it.

The same drive, intelligence, discipline, and creative force can build a personal empire—or shape a soul fit for heaven. The difference is not effort. It is intent.

The powers of heaven may be controlled and handled—
but only upon the principles of righteousness.

When hunger bends toward self, building your kingdom, access narrows.
When hunger is consecrated to God’s will, and His Kingdom come, access expands.

This is why Christ’s yoke is not decorative.
It is to be strapped on—aka put your shoulder to the wheel.
It does not remove effort—it lifts and enables it.

In the Fire with You

I do not write this as someone who has arrived.

I write as someone still walking—still learning—still being molded.

For many years, I wrestled with severe mental health challenges. I cycled through more jobs than I care to count. I have been banged up. There were seasons when I considered teaching others transformation—but I felt uneasy accepting money for change when the true work is this:

Come unto Christ—and be converted in Him.

I know this path because I have walked it.
Slowly. Highs and Lows. And with help.

The Central Motive and Fixed Resolve

James Allen called it a central motive and fixed resolve—the decision to stop drifting and remain on the wheel.

Not by willpower alone.
Not by martyrdom.
But by daily yielding.

Being molded requires hunger.
Daily submission.
A willingness to become more than you can be on your own.

And because you cannot do that alone, a Savior and Exemplar was sent.

Living Forward

Christ did not come merely to be admired.
He came to lift—and to teach you how to be lifted.

As you draw nearer to Him in thought, word, and deed, He refines you. Just when you think you understand the pattern, He applies pressure again—preparing you to receive more.

His plan of happiness is not small.

It is designed to give you all that He has.

Invitation

You are not behind.
You are being molded.

If you feel the hunger—honor it.
If you feel the stretch—lean into it.

Tomorrow, we’ll talk about what it means to live for the cause—not as an idea, but as stewardship.

For now, stay connected.

Remain hungry.
And keep yielding to the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost.
